I became interested in nutrition a number of years ago when members of my family experienced a variety of health problems, such as intestinal candidiasis, migraines, IBS, rosacea, osteoarthritis and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

It was the benefits which could be obtained by implementing small changes to their diets that made me see the importance of a healthy, balanced diet and the impact that specific nutrients in foods could have on the body and indeed their health.

This is what inspired me to have a career change and return to full-time education to obtain a BSc (Hons) Nutrition from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and to be registered with the Association for Nutrition.

I have been working regularly providing nutritional advice to suit a broad range of clients and their varied diets and lifestyles.

I am very passionate about promoting healthy eating for the many health benefits which can be achieved from adopting a healthy, balanced diet and how easily we can prevent or reduce our risks to a number of dietary related conditions by making a few changes to our diet.

We are all unique and our body’s rhythms and cycles all work differently.

There is no ‘one suits all’ fix.

It is about providing the body with the nutrients required to support growth and development, aid wound healing, renew cells and allow the body to perform all the metabolic functions, to cope with the stresses and strains of daily life.

Through adaptation of a healthy, balanced diet, and finding the foods which agree with our body, then adapting the diet to suit these needs, prevention of ill health and the opportunity of living a healthy life is within everybody’s reach.
